Starts Saturday 4 November. Roddy was born in Prestwick. He graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art in 1982. Early in his professional life he studied portraiture but has become increasingly drawn towards landscapes and townscapes. Roddy`s work has taken him throughout the UK, Europe and America. Later, returning to Burns' country has inspired him greatly to produce some his most innovative and exciting works, preferring to paint his seascapes (and landscapes) en plein air usually oil on canvas with brush and knife, a style of work which requires speed and accuracy.
